toasty beverage to go

Save money and have unlimited access to your toasty beverage for up to 10 hours with a fancy thermos like this one from Sigg.

My darling little friend Melissa almost convinced me today that drinking hot cocoa regularly is good for your skin. Perhaps she will share her secret recipe with is so we can put it to the test.

Ha! Let me preface the 'Secret Recipe' by quoting "The Mind Beauty Connection" by Dr. Amy Wechsler... "Cocoa (70% or more) has two to three times the antioxidants of green tea... In a recent study, a daily dose of cocoa for just six weeks made skin smoother, better hydrated, and less sun sensitive, and twelve weeks did even more..." Now for the recipe!

Makes 4 cups
1/4 c. cocoa (darker the better)
1/4 c. sugar (you can add more if you prefer)
1/3 c. boiling water
1 tsp. pure vanilla extract
4 c. milk

Stir cocoa, sugar, vanilla and boiling water together on low heat. Slowly add milk and continue stirring until hot.

If you are feeling especially indulgent, add a dark, chocolate bar to the mix... Kind of like a chocolate soup. Right bree? Voila! Bon Appetit!
