work bag

My work bag has seen better days, and I am looking for a new one...do you think this messenger style bag is too masculine looking?

new carpet

We are thrilled that our new wool carpet just arrived to SLC today. It won't be installed for a couple more weeks, but it's so nice to know that the old stuff is on it's way out...Yippee!

great crate

Monster and the Troll each need a new kennel. I thought if we could somehow convince them to share, we might be able to justify the purchase of an eiCrate.

I keep reminding Josh that this is much less expensive than a nursery...ha ha!

new read

I have been devouring books lately. I started this one today. It looks like it is going to be an interesting story...if course real life is always better than fiction, isn't it?

so bad

Oh, how I loved Michael Jackson when I was a kid. I even had a baby pink sweatshirt with the arms torn off (80's style) that had a picture of him picture on the front...I was bad.

There will always be a soft spot in my heart for him.

something blue?

Thinking about these...any other suggestions?

the eye

My friend Corey has the eye and a great sense of style. She has handpicked a plethora of vintage items from all over her new hometown of Los Angeles and filled an Etsy store called Dishes with these treasures.

Go check it out now!

feathered family

When she saw that I can't get enough of owls lately, my friend Victoria sent me this amazing picture that she took of a whole owl family. They lives outside her kitchen window...what a view!

flavors

While lunching at the Nordstrom today, I took a look at this amazing cookbook. There are so many recipes I would love to try.

top shop

I am in love with these customizable cake toppers from Goose Grease at Etsy.

a pair of squares

After a lot of begging, I have finally convinced Josh that the accent wall in my office needs to be a different color, so in a few weeks when we have the space cleared out for the new carpet to be installed, I will get my new paint. I am very excited!

I have been at a loss as to what to hang on my new poppy red wall, but I'm thinking a couple of these would be perfect. Gotta start saving my pennies.

owl love you forever

We have owls all over our house, I guess we just like them.

This week I found out that owls mate for life, and often times when one loses their mate they turn away from life. They are emotionally delicate and demonstrate love to their mates in ways that many others do not. Now I love owls even more.

This would be a fun piece to add to our collection.

nice cube

It's not quite 'me', but it is pretty darn cute.

not just any hose

When we moved into 123 house two years ago, we immediately landscaped our yard, it was our first big project. When it came to buying a garden hose we had to buy what we could find. I suppose that for most people this wouldn't be a big deal, but it is something we have discussed more times than I care to admit. The clouds lifted when Josh found the garden hose of our dreams.

yoga to go

While we are solving all of my problems, I also thought I would share this...a travel yoga mat! I am so excited...this is really going to simplify things for me.

new hoot

With 8 consecutive days of rain here, I have spent a lot of time reading lately. Tonight I am going to start my new book, Wesley the Owl, a love story about an owl and his girl.

Love this!

second time around

This book is just as good the second time around. Real life really is more interesting than fiction.

garden of life

Tonight at yoga, my instructor spoke for a moment about choosing things to "cultivate", during our practice and life. The things we choose are the seeds we plant to grow the garden. Mine are always the same, patience, love and kindness. My garden is by no means perfect, but beautiful things sprout up every now and then.

What are you trying to grow?

pretty please

Dear Banana,

If you would like to send me some of these, that would be okay with me.

B. :)

mwah!

Searching for a long lasting lip color so I can kiss my sweetie as much as I want on our big day...any suggestions?

a new kind of free love

On our way home from dinner this evening, we saw 3 teenage males on a street corner with large signs reading 'free hugs'. An elderly woman heading in their direction stopped to embrace each young man.

I don't know if we will be crafting a sign anytime soon, but it was really touching to witness.

new fave

Meet my new favorite pants.

the answer

There was no clear answer when we started asking the question about who should marry us this coming September. We do not belong to an institution that could offer us an quick or easy solution, however we had ideas about the type of ceremony we would like...spiritual, personal, intimate.

After some brainstorming and research, we met with a lovely woman who is the perfect answer to our question. She is a Zen monk, gentle, warm, intuitive and interested in getting to know us as a couple. I am so excited that she has come into our lives for this day.

enlightened

I'm pretty sure that the new Savasana wrap from Lululemon could help me on my journey to enlightenment. This wrap can be used as a jacket to and from yoga class, and as a blanket at the end of your practice.

off to the races

Josh spent most of the weekend at the World Superbike races, and I joined him on Sunday for the final day. We had a great time despite the heat and dust.

No, this isn't a picture of Josh, but he wishes it was.

fashioning felt

I keep daydreaming of seeing the Fashioning Felt exhibit at to Cooper-Hewitt! Has anyone been yet?
