I think one of these cupcake mixes would make a lovely hostess gift.
Does anyone know if the mix is as good as the real thing?

would you dare?
Would you have selected a 45 and allowed this gnome to serenade you while using the restroom? This was one of the trying decisions I was faced with last week.

melissa + ali forever
It was an absolute joy to watch one of my best friends in the whole wide world marry the love of her life last Friday. We (and everyone else who knows them) couldn't be happier for Melissa and Ali.
A lovely evening soiree was the perfect finish to a perfect day.

bare minerals
I recently started using Bare Minerals and it is positively the best makeup I have ever used. It makes skin look radiant and flawless. I am so impressed that is has temporarily diverted my attention from Botox. You need this!

get buff
I had forgotten how much I love the Red Flower Wild Cherry Blossom Rice Buff until I came across it again in a shop the other day.
A fancy little something in the shower is a nice way to greet or finish your day.

the nature of glass
Last Sunday morning we spent some time at the Desert Botanical Garden in Phoenix to see the Chihuly: The Nature of Glass exhibit.
The works of sculptural glass seemed so at home in the desert landscape. The colors and scale of the pieces were remarkable. It was an exhibit I will remember for the rest of my life.
If you have a chance to see this show, do not miss it.

crazy loco
It was a dream realized when I stumbled upon gourmet peanut butter retailer, P.B. Loco. The enhanced flavors add a level of adult sophistication to an old classic. I personally tried the Peanut Butter with Jungle Banana, which was delicous.
A few others that intrigued me were:
Peanut Butter with Asian Curry Spice
Peanut Butter with Dark Chocolate Duo
Peanut Butter with Sumatra Cinnamon and Raisin
You can order individual flavors or gift sets online. Watch out family (you know who you are).

trevor mikula
Last weekend, we strolled some galleries in Phoenix. That is when we discovered the work of Trevor Mikula. We might just have to order one of his paintings, they are whimsical, and refined at the same time.

freedom
Last week we settled on the name Franklin for our new family member. We didn't know at the time, but tonight we discovered that our puppy mill rescues' name means "free man".

When we spotted Sprinkles in Phoenix this weekend, we rushed over to see what all the fuss was about.
Now I can't stop thinking about them, they are that good!

We spent the weekend in the Valley of the Sun. We saw art, went shopping, ate amazing food, and laughed until our tummies ached. It is lovely to feel inspired.
Stay tuned for posts about out trip this week.

a sidekick fur me
This weekend was a special one, at least that's what my mom and dad say. On Friday we got me my own dog. He's really scrappy looking, not quite as coiffed as I am. He moves quickly, and sleeps a lot. When we got him home he smelled pretty bad, I wanted to name him Pig Pen but I haven't officially named him yet.
Anyway, I am starting to get used to him, I'll keep you in the loop about how things go, I am currently training him to be my faithful sidekick and partner in crime. Please send treats and gifts at your discretion, and don't forget the sweet older brother that is showing him the ropes.
Check him out below.
Love Henri

be careful what you ask for
My sister sent me this article earlier today.
The Canadian Press
March 5, 2009 at 4:11 PM EST
BELLINGHAM, B.C. — A British Columbian man who wanted a U.S. border inspector to say please got a face full of pepper spray instead.
Desiderio Fortunato, of Coquitlam, B.C., says he thought the guard who told him to turn off his engine Monday was rude and asked him to say please.
The 54-year-old says he was stunned and blinded as he was sprayed, pulled out of the car and handcuffed.
He was detained about 3 hours.
U.S. Customs and Border Protection spokesman Mike Milne says it was a lawful order that travellers must obey but the use of force is under review.
Mr. Fortunato crosses the border two or three times a week to visit his second home in Blaine, Wash., and says inspectors are mostly courteous.
Wow, I guess manners don't come easy for everyone.

pecan goodness
My sweet friend let me borrow her Best of Cooking Light cookbook this weekend, and I set out to try some new recipes.
One of them was Crisp Pecan Cookies, which are light and delicious. They have a warm buttery taste.
