pb & j

As I mentioned a few weeks ago, I am about to be an aunt for the first time. My younger sister Paige (P) and her husband Brendan (B) will be the proud parents of this new little being. I use the term "little being" because we don't know if it is a boy or a girl, and they won't find out, much to our disappointment. Boo! Whatever that little one is, I have been pulling for a name that starts with a J...then they can be PB &J. So clever. Baby is affectionately known as Jamal over here for the time being.

Paige and Brendan are extreme outdoor enthusiasts. I saw this darling nursery idea and had to show it to all of you. It could be great for a little boy or girl, don't you think? I know Jamal would love it!

on the road again

Headed to Washington tomorrow morning as part of my unintentional cross country tour. Posts will be light if at all for the next few days. See you on Wednesday!

details, details

This is not just another white shirt. It's fitted torso, and large cuffs create a beautiful silhouette.

design on film

I must see these.

outdoor notebook

This sleek little notebook portable grill would be perfect for car camping.

My secret to an organized behind.

snuggly

Oh! This guy looks so huggable, and already broken in. He is a modern version of my Buppy!

bienvenue a canada

I finally decided to take him home.

Josh and I are heading to the Great White North together for the first time ever this December. We booked our flights this evening. I am really excited to show him my country.

hurricane strikes again!

Hurricane Breep has struck again, and lasted for six days. She is a regular around these parts. The storms are most severe when Josh is out of town. He gets back tomorrow, I better get "operation disaster clean up" underway.

I would post a picture of the actual scene, but I think it is too devastating.

lonely heart

Missing my bestest friend.

The semi-annual purge happened today. Space available for good looking, high quality, glove-like fitting apparel. Please inquire.

a solid foundation

Yessssssssssssss!

I couldn't help but say it out loud yesterday in the dressing room.

Natori foundations have been a long time favorite of mine, but this one and I are meant to be together.

acrobatics

I went to yoga this morning in search of my true self, or so I was told. While I respect this idea, it felt more like I had joined the circus. Pehaps I will find myself there.

filling up

You can have any two of these for less than the price of one gallon of gas. I would love a whole tank full.

7.17.2008

for your crib

I love the idea of a mobile hanging over a grown up bed.

swingtown

This is our new guilty pleasure...the show, not the swinging.

evening wear

Fleecy, cozy and Canadian.

field of dreams

I found this gorgeous photo at my daily must read, The Lil Bee. (do stop by)

These tulip fields in Holland are breathtaking, their color like paint on an artists canvas. Oh, how I would love to see this in person.

My fascination with Dutch culture continues.

what a stud

I love the architectural quality of these concrete and stainless steel studs from Konzuk.

let's go fly a kite

In my imagination this weekend, I will put on my Sunday best and go fly a kite. I will have a lovely picnic of sandwiches, berries and lemonade. I will put down a blanket and have rest before I skip home to retire...what a day.

la la land

Returned from la la land tonight. It was lovely to take in some California sunshine, and make new friends.

elephants, birds, and hippos, oh my!

I absolutely adore these simple animal forms, designed by Jonathan Adler, potter and jack of many trades. With very few details, the essence of each creature is captured.

I AM GOING TO BE AN AUNT FOR THR FIRST TIME (officially), and I can't wait. I am prepared to buy that childs love.

foster home

I think I could give this tote the kind of home it deserves.

falling

Longing for the simple days of Fall. I wouldn't mind at all if it arrived tomorrow. Here's what I would wear to greet it.

1 litre

Having bottles of this water in the fridge would make it even more fun to merchandise.

let the sunshine in

A wee bit of sunshine for a sad sofa.

self defense

Bad day at the office? I find humour to be the best weapon.

{gun ruler}

nice ice

My mind is churning with ideas for a holiday centerpiece with these icy looking glass balls.

the wave

Almost 8 years ago, Josh and I worked on the only commercial project we ever designed together. We specified this bench for the lobby.

I still love it today.

spoon me

Serious consideration is being given becoming a coffee drinker. How cute would this look sitting on my desk?

house of card(board)s

I keep telling Josh that we should get a cottage. Apparently, we can't afford it, but where there is a will, there is a way. I am sure he had not considered the glorious two storey cardboard cottage designed by Stutchbury and Pape Architects...duh!

audrey darling

I can't wait to read this book that I got today. Written by Audrey Hepburn's son, I think this book should tell her story with unique perspective.
