Classic black ballet flats have become a staple for me, kind of like oxygen.
It would be okay with me if these shoes by French Sole wanted to move in.

clearly clever
Last year my friend Melissa brought me a lovely candle from her trip to Paris. I noticed that the shop had used clear stickers instead of tape on the wrapping paper.
I've been meaning to order these so that I incorporate this clever little trick into my gift wrapping practice.

juicy chakra
I got a new yoga mat today, the color is a beautiful orange-red called Persimmon. Everytime I look at it, I think of the word 'juicy' and it makes me crave citrus...weird.
They are available in different colors to match your chakra. Check them out here.

victim of unkl
A few months ago, Josh blogged about his UNLK brand toys (here), today I thought I'd tell you about mine.
When we first started dating Josh told me all about them, I thought they were interesting, but not something I would collect. That was before I met the Fashion Victims. I became UNKL brands next victim.

i'm it!

Yay! I was tagged by Catherine from Little Glowing Lights in Australia. What fun!
What I was doing 10 years ago:
Ten years ago, I was 20 years old. I was living in Toronto, Canada attending my second year of design school. This was a tough and exciting time for me, I experienced true heartache for the first time, my family as I knew it began to change in big ways, and I was starting to figure out what it meant to grow up and really be on my own. I lived in one of the world's great cities, I had lovely friends, and found and nurtured my creative interests. The person I am today was just barely emerging.
I think I was pretty hard on myself back then. I wish I knew then what I know now.
5 things on my to-do list today:
I am a major list maker. I don't know if that is good or bad sometimes.
1. Have brunch with Josh
2. Plant herbs
3. Tidy my home office (this is on my list every day)
4. Order Dad's Fathers Day gift
5. Bake something
Snacks I enjoy:
I've heard that people are born being partial to either salty or sweet snacks. For me it is the latter. I love Red Vine licorice (and pretty much an other kind of candy), microwave popcorn, fruit, cheese, nuts and yogurt.
I'll pretty much eat anything, I'm hungry all the time.
Things I would do if I was a billionaire:
If I were a billionaire I would pay off our house and start to build the little house that Josh and I dream of having. I would get a whole pack of Yorkies for Henri to play with. I would travel more often, go to culinary school and perhaps start my own company designing handbags. I would also anonymously give money to my friends and family.
Places I have lived before:
Windsor, Ontario Canada
London, Ontario Canada
Toronto, Ontario Canada
Salt Lake City, Utah USA (current)
I never thought I would be here for the long term but it has really grown on me, life is so unpredictable.
People I want to know more about:
Tina
Kami
Emily and Laura
Marta
Natalie

Violet Beauregarde wouldn't hesitate, why would you?
You can start or end your day with bitter chocolate, fuji apple, or maybe some pumpkin pudding and still enjoy a refreshing menthol finish. These uniquely flavored toothpastes from Breathe Palette would make a pretty cool gift.
Oh, and they won't turn you into a blueberry.

Some days we visit in my imagination or in my memories, but I know parts of us are always together.

think 'grobal'ly
I am not a mother in the traditional sense. I have a fur child (Henri) who I love more than I ever could have imagined. It makes it hard to believe that I could ever love another child more than him.
To celebrate Mothers Day at our house, Henri, with Josh's help presented me with a set of four gorgeous Grobals. They are self watering pots that come in lively colors. The ones I received are intended for my new home office. I absolutely adore them.
We also had a delicious brunch and a nice evening stroll. I am so blessed to have my own little family at 123 house.
A big thank you to my two favorite guys.

5.08.2008

In celebration of my recent status as a permanent resident of the USA, I thought I would share a recent "American" experience I had.
I am not ashamed to admit that I like hotdogs...a lot. So it wasn't unusual that I announced that I was craving one while shopping at the hardware store last weekend. Once we got in the car, Josh pulled into the Wienershnitzel. "What are we doing here?" I asked. "You wanted a hotdog he replied". Seriously? This is not what I had in mind.
I know it's snobby, but I have prided myself in never having eaten at such establishments. How could I pass this up though?
{shock and awe}
We ordered our meals from a young lady that looked like a character from Fraggle Rock (appropriate). I went for the turkey mustard hotdog, while Josh just went for the classic chili cheese dog.
{the goods}
That's right folks, you're reading it correctly. They do have a chili cheese fries burrito. I hope those employees are also well trained in emergency cardiac procedures.
The whole experience lived up to the Wienerschnitzel slogan, "Pushing the Boundaries of Taste". You can say that again!
{pushing the boundaries of taste}
I love this place.

welcome to the united states of america

Today, I received my welcome notice to the United State of America. I'm officially official.
I am pretty sure that I get to drop my "alien" title now, and replace it with "immigrant". It's funny how these words take on a whole new meaning when you are refered to as one of them.
I was also notified that I will need to start paying income tax, does this mean the IRS owes me 7 years of taxes back? It was worth a try.
This has been a long road for me, a lot of money and 5 years of my life.
I love Canada, my home country and part of me in every way. I also love this country which has blessed me with many great things. I wish everyone was so lucky, to be a child of these two great nations.

When we moved into 123 house a year ago, our acquisition came with an ugly door. We are itching to replace it soon.
We love this one by Milano Doors. Wouldn't it look beautiful in a nice tomato red color?
